Maiya Maiya....

Hi Guys, Its been a while since i wrote my blog on Sona's Kodial. I thought i should not miss writing a blog on Maiya's an authentic karnataka style restaurent which is a MTR group restaurent with their presence in South Bangalore.
They have a lavish special meals served for Rs.130 on weekdays and regular meals served for Rs.80. I wanted to try their special meals as thats my first time in Maiya's and I dont want to miss out their specialties.

They started with a chukku kapi which i've never had in any of the restaurents before in Bangalore though thats my favorite drink in my hometown(nagercoil). Chukku Kapi with Chilli Bajji has always been my favourite :) That was delicious and was a good appetiser too!

Then they kept a nice clean plate big enough for their longg menu. They served tomato soup (thick soup), banana bajji, milk peda. Then served kosumbari, potato sagu(karnataka style), beans and channa dal poriyal, mixed veg kuruma as side dishes. Then came the oil free yummy Poori. The poori was literally oil free and i really enjoyed the same.

After finishing two rounds of poori with the other dishes, we waited for the next course. I really liked their service. They were not in a hurry to serve us. Gave us enough time to enjoy the food. Next came the Vangi bath with onion raitha. The vangi bath and onion raitha combo was extraordinary. They also served us papad (fried), potato chips and sandige. I loved that :)

Next course was your plain rice with thambli and haagalkai gojju (sweet karela gojju) which was exceptionally good, sambar(karnatak style huli) which was mouthwatering with ghee, rasam (thicker version) and curds which was just right. We enjoyed all the dishes.

The dessert included semiya payasam, fruit salad with icecream and sweet pan which gave us the complete satisfaction after a full fledged meal.

The place gets really crowded after 1 pm. we were just on time when we entered the restaurent at 12:45 PM.
Its just too good for 130 bucks. More dishes and slightly more expensive over the weekends. Look foward to go there over the weekend!
